4 days to go!!!

I don't  have anything special to write about except for the fact that I am extremely excited for this coming weekend. I can not wait to get in my car on Friday and head down to Disneyland, to check into the Candy Cane Inn, and to walk through Downtown Disney.  I can't wait to spend time with my family and friends.  I am looking forward to every part of the weekend, especially the end of the 13.1 Tinker Bell Half Marathon.  I seem to spend every free waking moment looking at pictures of past races at Disneyland, reading blogs about other people's experience, and each and every time I read about the crowds, the chEARing squads, and the finish line I get a little teary-eyed.  I don't think I could be any more prepared.

I have also been reflecting on where this journey has taken me.  It was only 3 short months ago that the decision was made to enter into this race and start training.  Before this I was never a runner. In school I was adamantly opposed to running, used my asthma (good reminder to pack an emergency inhaler even though I haven't needed it in years), and in more recent years I have given running a good old college try but it never really stuck.  Having this goal and a training program, not to mention knowing that my sister and my good friend were training also, really helped me grow from hardly being able to run to the stop sign and back (a mere 50 feet) to running 11 miles.

The last training run I am going to make will be Friday and my goal for that run is to practice taking pictures on the run so I will be prepared. I know this weekend is going to fly by so quickly (thanks to the wings and pixie dust) and I want to be able to remember it for a long time.
