
The countdown has begun. We have only 6 days to go before the Tinker Bell 1/2 Marathon at Disneyland! I have my hotel reservation (Candy Cane Inn) and have printed out all the waivers and directions that I think I will need. I have also had my first 'nightmare' about this coming weekend. I have had the same recurring theme in my dreams for as long as I can remember. I am late for something or I don't have everything I need. The locations and things that I am missing may change but the sense of dread is the same. In this one, the corral that I would be starting in was in my driveway and everyone was in it, ready to go. I was not. I was running around, trying to find my water, my hydration belt, my shoes, etc... I was told that once I got in the corral I couldn't get out and so I was trying to get everything together and get to the bathroom before the race started. I woke up worried, as would be expected, and the one thought that came to mind was to make sure I packed bottled water. So, that is on my list now.
Despite the lingering dread that dream left me, I am so excited for the upcoming weekend. This week I am focusing on eating a good diet, drinking lots of water, and stretching. Not to mention making sure I don't fall or injure myself in any way. Oh, and trying to get some sleep. That may be the hardest part of all.
