11 Miles down....

This past Saturday, Deb B and I ran from the park in Santa Margarita to the Outlet shopping center at the North end of Atascadero for a total of 11 miles.  This is the longest run I am going to do before the actual half marathon in 2 weeks.  This run served several purposes, the most important being the knowledge that 13.1 miles IS achievable and my pace is well within the required pace.

As we were running and I could see the end in sight I thought about how exciting it's going to be to be running through and around Disneyland and see the Finish Line.  I have no doubt that we will meet and exceed our own personal goals in running this race.  One thing I am very excited about is seeing all the people cheering the runners on.

While we were running on Saturday, our good friend, Sara and her son Nicholas, drove by, saw us, turned around and pulled over to cheer us on. That was so very appreciated and needed! They came across at about mile 5 and I can't imagine what it is going to be like to see people cheering us on all along the race route.  I am very excited!
